Join the Food Bank as we honor labor leader and civil rights activist Cesar Chavez! Volunteer to help sort and package food for local families and learn more about how you can support our long-term solutions to hunger in our community.

Please keep in mind the following:

All volunteers will be expected to arrive promptly at 4:00 p.m. on March 30th at 7900 Edgewater Drive, Oakland. Please enter our new Community Engagement Center in the rear of our facility under the orange awning.

You will be sorting, screening, shelving and/or boxing food in our warehouse. The work can be messy!

All attendees must be at least 10 years of age and all youth must be accompanied by at least one adult volunteer for every five youth.

The warehouse can be quite warm or chilly--so please wear sensible layers and closed-toe shoes. Shorts are OK, but sandals and flip-flops aren't.

Please don't bring backpacks, shoulder bags, purses, etc. to the warehouse. Leave them at home or locked in the trunk of your car.

We'll have food and drinks just before the shift begins -- please arrive promptly so you don't miss out!
